about

Naomi Ranft is a photographer and diver based in Cornwall, exploring the deep connection between people and the sea. With a strong focus on ocean advocacy, her work blends art and activism, using the camera to tell stories of fragility, resilience, and beauty within marine environments. Drawn to the freedom of underwater photography, Naomi captures spontaneous, light-filled moments where water becomes both subject and collaborator. Her current body of work, developed as part of her third-year project, delves into the intricate ties between marine ecosystems and mental health, capturing both the fragility of these environments and the abstract beauty found beneath the surface. Moving forward, Naomi is focused on building a career at the intersection of fine art, marine conservation storytelling, and exhibition-based work, continuing to champion the sea through visually compelling and deeply purposeful imagery.
